Macugnaga

The pearl of Monte Rosa, Macugnaga is the oldest colony of the Walser minority in Italy in the east face of Monte Rosa (4634 m), the only Himalayan-style.
Macugnaga boasts two cableways that carry up to 3.000 metres of Monte Moro where there is also a great snow park for lovers of snowboarding, and two chair lifts that take you up to 1900 metres of Belvedere, at the feet of the glacier of Monte Rosa.
For lovers of cross-country skiing, from the village of Pecetto starts a trail that leads to the Quarazza Valley.
