The compound, which includes the church, the bell tower and the hermitage, was built during the first half of the XVIII century on a rocky spur. From there one can enjoy an exceptional panoramic view over the entire Lake of Orta and the mountains of the eastern shore.
In 1998, in occasion of the 250th anniversary of its building, the whole compound was completely restored.
