Culture and current affairs: „Incontri Culturali“ 2011-2012 in Stresa

Between culture and current affairs, local history and sociological analysis: a new edition of cultural meetings, that is „Incontri Culturali“, is going to begin in Stresa on Lake Maggiore.

8 interesting appointments until March 16th with experts, specialists and artists, organised by the Culture Department of the Municipality of Stresa.

On Friday, November 4th: “L’architettura nella pittura di paesaggio”or the architecture in landscape painting during centuries. With writer and art critic Giulio Martinoli.
On November 18th: a woman protagonist of the Renaissance in Stresa, Anna Maria Bolongaro, her life and solidarity activities. With historian and researcher Wilma Burba.
On November 25th: “A tavola con il Risorgimento”, a book about the relationship between Italian cuisine and Italian people. With authors Elma Schena and Adriano Ravera.
On December 2nd: “La donazione Canonica a Stresa, lo scultore e il suo tempo”, Pietro Canonica's life, travels, works in European courts. With Gianluca Kannès and Bianca Santese.
On January 27th: “La Storia di Sissel“, theatre show. With the ensemble “E… dizione straordinaria", piano player Romano Ricca and violinist Giuliano Crivelli.
On February 17th: “Notizie dai teatri operativi”, a story about Italian fronts abroad: Kosovo, Lebanon, Afghanistan and Libya. With Lieutenant Colonel Roberto Lanni and authors Lorenza Radaelli and Monica Mazza.
On March 2nd at 10,30 am in the congress-palace of Stresa: “Quale futuro per i nostri giovani?”, a discussion about the situation of young people during the economic and social crisis in Italy. With students of high schools and Mario Calabresi, “La Stampa” Director.
On March 16th: “Riflessioni e spunti dalla crisi economica e finanziaria globale”, considerations and remarks about world economic crisis. With Giuseppe Tantazzi, “Banca d’Italia” General Director - Genoa Branch.
