The international Festival of Settimane Musicali di Stresa is ready to start.
The 2010 schedule has just been set. Certain performances, such as the Bach Cello Solo, are traditions that will continue this year. Others are new. Goran Bregovic and his Wedding and Funeral Band, soloists from the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra with Vladimir Askenazy are among the highlights of the 49th edition of the Settimane Musicale di Stresa. The artistic director of the event is Gianandrea Noseda. To start off the season, on May, 8 will be once again the “Spring Concerts”, performed in the park of Villa Pallavicino in Stresa, featuring French accordionist Richard Galliano. In the spring weekends that follow, look for the performances by Astor Piazzolla, Chet Baker, and pianist and composer Phillip Glass.
The Festival will continue with great music with the “Musical Meditation”, from July, 30 to August, 7 and with the centrale core, entitled “Visions”, from August, 22 to September, 5.
It is possible to book your tickets from March, 1st.
