A Reality Show on Lake Maggiore!

A famous reality show on Lake Maggiore! Yes, it's true: with “Coach Trip” our territory will be shown on British TV.

“Coach Trip” is a reality show made in the UK which is seen by 2 millions citizens weekly on public Channel 4. On a big coach 14 people travel and stop every day in the most important European towns, ready to live every kind of surprising adventures. At the end of each day competitors fail the worst of them by a nomination, who then will eventually be eliminated by the public.
Producers have chosen Lake Maggiore to register an episode of the 6th edition (broadcast on February/March 2011 in the afternoon). In fact last month some producers of “12 Yard” Society from London contacted the Distretto Turistico dei Laghi to plan the episode in every details by being supported by local operators.
Consequently on Wednesday, July 7th the entire staff and participants (more than 30 people) reached the landing stage of Stresa. Several British tourists didn't miss the occasion to see Brendan Sheerin, a true TV star in the UK, and ask him a photo or an autograph!
For the participants... few interviews for the confessional in the town centre and then on board to Isola Madre by a speed motorboat to have a bath and... a lot of gossip!
A cruise in the Borromeo Gulf, a lunch on Isola Bella, a trip by cableway from Lido Carciano to the panoramic top of mount Mottarone (1492 meters o.s.l.) and lots of fun on “Fun Park” dinghies during the afternoon. In that occasion a part of the troupe realised some beautiful photos and posters that will be shown during the episode presentation (f.e. the ancient Marble Quarry of Ornavasso and the fascinating Ossola mountains).
In the evening back to Carciano for some frightening nominations!

Through the show Lake Maggiore will meet a high visibility in the United Kingdom, which is already well confirmed on the web. In fact "Coach trip" authors have chosen our lake as one location of their program because of its easy and direct accessibility through the Internet as well as the Official Web Site of the Distretto Turistico dei Laghi, Monti e Valli www.distrettolaghi.it (over 150.000 visits each month during the high season!).
