Four treasures as four destinations usually not open to the public that on March 27 and 28 will be visitable with the help of special tourist guides. It will really be a rare occasion for discovering local landscapes and works of art very far away from daily city chaos!
In Ossola region visitors will be allowed to admire Santa Marta Church and Oratory of Trontano. Positioned in a quiet and isolated place, the two buildings are next to each other. With its ancient frescos, the church is an important romanesque example of the District of Verbania. In Vigezzo Valley it will be worth visiting Malesco old town centre, the mill locally called "Mulin dul Tac" as well as the Ecomuseum. There capable stone-cutters had been able to model mountain stones ("pietra ollare") during the centuries in order to create monuments and work tools (for example, millstones and olive-presses), which are real masterpieces as told in the related Museum.
In Cusio area the Parish of the XI century in Crusinallo (Omegna) is worth a visit: it represents one of the most ancient christian monuments in our District.
In Verbano region the religious compound of Vignone encloses the parish, a churchyard, a charnel house and the cemetery. Its dominant position on a high hill lets tourists' eyes space out towards Lake Maggiore and Verbano mountains.
